Regular round of the Geneva International Discussions was held on March 17-18, 2015 in Geneva. Today, on March, 18, The Treaty on Alliance and Integration between South Ossetia and Russia is being singed in Moscow. David Sanakoev, the head of foreign policy department of RSO, informed REGNUM news agency what positive changes can happen in the Republic and why did the treaty with Russia become the reason for non-confidence vote delivering.


— Definitely it’s symbolic that the signing is scheduled for March, 18. A year ago the Crimea joined Russia. Today, despite the difficulties that arose during discussion, a finalized and modified (including by Russian departments) writing of the contract is going to be signed by Leonid Tibilov, the President of South Ossetia, and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia. I am sure this signing will mark the next stage in development of interstate relations between our countries.

Murat Dzhioev, the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, heading South Ossetian mission, organized a working meeting with the Co-Chairmen of the Geneva International Discussions representing the EU, OSCE and the UN, who arrived to Tskhinval within a visit anticipating the coming round of the Discussions.


Each subject area that will be under negotiation on the coming 30th round of the discussions, which are planned for December, was talked over.

On October 29 D. G. Sanakoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, received Jan Mishkots, the new Head of the ICRC mission in South Ossetia.


Current terms of bilateral cooperation and further activity of the organization in South Ossetia were discussed. The Minister marked the importance of the work carried out by the ICRC in the Republic and expressed words of gratitude for the implemented projects.
