Pertaining to NATO summit in Wales

At Wales NATO summit conducted on 4-5 September Georgia received a considerable stack of “Enhanced cooperation” that although not granting a membership in Alliance but empowers Georgia’s access to intelligence, to participation in military trainings and strengthens cooperation in defense sphere. Besides, United States through the head of Defense Ministry Chuck Hagel who met with his Georgian college in Tbilisi on September 7, called for Russia to withdraw troops from Georgian border.

Such statements causes some concerns in RSO Ministry of Foreign Affairs because multiplying to put it mildly unfriendly attitude of Georgia by ambitions of Georgian leadership, one can assume that Tbilisi will once again make an attempt to replicate the events of August 2008. Undoubtedly, arming and directing Georgia, NATO and US are deciding the next task of their global multipass game and the role of Georgia as a puppet in US plans increasing and becomes dangerous. Obviously, any temptation of Georgia, like the August adventure may lead to unpredictable consequences that are not contributive to sustainable peace at the Caucasus at all.

International community presently has a difficult period of forming of new system of international relations with vague and unpredictable future. Member states of Alliance instead of learn a lesson from August aggression, neutralize revanchist sentiments of Georgian leadership and work over formation of more safe and fair world are adding fuel in the bulk of unsettled problems and creating new dangerous challenges.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia once again underlines that the presence of Russian troops in the region led to establishment of peace and stability and is a manifestation of a peacekeeping spirit.

In difficult critical moment Russia found timely decision by impelling Georgia to peace. Presently it is a time for the international community to within the frameworks of existing realities impel Georgia to a neighbourliness.
