Opening ceremony of a memorial plaque to Znaur Gassiev, installed on the house where the political patriarch of South Ossetia lived, took place on March 26.


Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Erik Pukhaev, the Prime Minister, Petr Gassiev, the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Znaur Gassiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, and public figures took part in the ceremony.

Znaur Gassiev was the man of the century, an outstanding leader and a wise politician, patriot, who honestly and consistently had lived all his life for his people’s benefit.
