May 17 saw Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, together with representatives of Foreign Ministries of the Russian Federation, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Artsakh, who had arrived in Sukhum on the occasion of the festivities, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, meeting with Raul Khadzhimba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia.


The President welcomed the guests, thanked them for participation in the festivities and noted the importance of development and strengthening of relations with friendly states.

In their turn the participants expressed gratitude for the reception and extended congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, handed Raul Khadzhimba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, a welcoming address from Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, marked the positive development of friendly South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations and emphasized the importance of the official visit of the South Ossetian President Anatolii Bibilov to Abkhazia and the return visit of the Abkhazian President Raul Khadzhimba to South Ossetia.

The Minister expressed words of gratitude for the warm welcome and traditional Abkhaz hospitality and noted the high level of organization of the festive events.
