Entry to the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia is fulfilling through the territory of Russia.


Citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia resident in RSO Leningor region have a right to go to the territory of Georgia and move to the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia from the territory of Georgia.

Non-residents of RSO leningor region have no right to enter the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia from the territory of Georgia without special permission.

For entry to the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia from the territory of Russian Federation for non-residents of the Republic of South Ossetia or the citizens of Russian Federation it is necessary to have valid Russian visa which permit them to return to the territory of Russian Federation.

Citizens of Russian Federation who are not citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia for entering the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia ought to have a national passport of Russian Federation.

Individuals, who are not citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia or the citizens of Russian Federation with the exception of journalists, should inform RSO MIA of their intention to visit the Republic of South Ossetia three days beforehand the visit to receive permission for the entrance.

For accreditation are required following documents:

1) Passport or identity card;

2) Certificate confirming belonging to organization where he is engaged with full name of information agency, address, phone and fax numbers and E-mail address;

3) Application applied by editorial board for continued work (from one to thirty days, from month to three months, from one month to one year) of journalist at the Territory of the Republic of South Ossetia;

4) Testimonial of directing organization;

5) Photo 3x4 (2 pc).
