South Ossetia side has stated a number of times at different international levels, including Geneva Discussions and meetings of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, suggestions on mutual release of the detainers imprisoned in Georgia and South Ossetia.
South Ossetian side counts that today’s act of good will of the leadership of the Republic of South Ossetia will be followed by the Georgian side and the process of mutual release of the detainees will be initiated.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of South Ossetia states again that in Georgian prisons are kept citizens of South Ossetian detained in 2005 for political reasons and hopes that the new Georgian leadership, not related to crimes committed by Saakashvili and his team, will reciprocate this act of good will.
