Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Riad Haddad, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation, who arrived in Tskhinval on the occasion of the festivities, dedicated to the Day of the Republic on September 20, 2018.


Dmitrii Medoev, the South Osstian Foreign Minister, participated in the meeting as well.

President Bibilov thanked the Ambassador for the arrival and emphasized the importance of the developed friendly relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic. Alongside with this the President asked the Ambassador to deliver sincere appreciation to President Bashar al-Assad, to the Syrian nation, and wished the people of Syria speedy establishment of peace in the country.

In his turn Ambassador Haddad presented a welcoming address from Bashar al-Assad, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, to Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, and expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit South Ossetia on such a great day.

At the end of the meeting the parties exchanged memorable gifts.
