In framework of the visit to Abkhazia an extended format meeting of the South Ossetian President Anatolii Bibilov and the Abkhazian President Raul Khadzhimba was held on September 29.


During the meeting Anatolii Biblov thanked Raul Khadzhimba for the invitation to participate in celebrations, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia and on behalf of the people of South Ossetia congratulated the people of Abkhazia with the great day. Alongside with this the South Ossetian President emphasized that it was a common victory over the evil, against which the Abkhazian and the Ossetian people had fought together.

While welcoming the guests in the hospitable land of Abkhazia, Raul Khadzhimba, in his turn, marked, that the relations that had developed between the two fraternal nations throughout centuries, should undoubtedly been developed further.

The parties noted the significance of the recently celebrated 10th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation and the latest diplomatic victory – the recognition of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Syrian Arab Republic.

Dmitrii Medoev, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ibragim Gasseev, Minister for Defence, Igor Naniev, Minister of Internal Affairs, Valerii Valiev, Security Council Secretary, Vladimir Kelekhsaev, member of the Parliament, participated in the meeting on the South Ossetian side.

Valerii Kvarchia, Speaker of the Abkhazian People’s Assembly, Beslan Bartsits, Head of the Presidential Administration, Valerii Bganba, Prime Minister, Mohamed Kilba, Security Council Secretary, Daur Kove, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harry Arshba, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Beslan Tsvizhba, Deputy Minister for Defence, participated in the meeting on the Abkhazian side.
