Republic of South Ossetia is located оn the southern slopes of the Main Caucasus Range in the area of 3900 square meters. Тhe capital is the city of Tskhinval.

On 1 October 2013 a working visit between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of South Ossetia David Sanakoev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Abkhazia Vyacheslav Chikirba, in the frame of the official visit of the delegation of Republic of South Ossetia to Republic of Abkhazia, took place at the MFA of Republic of Abkhazia. At the meeting participated Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Republic of South Ossetia in Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Abkhazia Irakli Khintba.


During the meeting were discussed perspectives of development of relations between South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The sides expressed bilateral intention to extend the political dialogue and continue to strengthen traditionally friendly relations between Republic of South Ossetia and Republic of Abkhazia, they also underlined the importance of further deepening and strengthening the cooperation between Diplomatic Institutions of the two countries.

These days Abkhazia is celebrating Independence Day and 20th Victory Day.
