In framework of the official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic a meeting of the South Ossetian President Anatolii Bibilov with representatives of the Ossetian community in Syria was held on July 24.

On behalf of the delegation of South Ossetia Anatolii Bibilov welcomed the compatriots and expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Ossetians, who live in Syria, play important role in life of their second Motherland, enjoy well-deserved respect, but alongside with this do not lose interest in their historical land.

Anatolii Bibilov shared the results of the meeting with the Syrian President, told members of the community about the agreements achieved and emphasized that ties between the Ossetian community in Syria and South Ossetia would strengthen when the Embassy of South Ossetia in Damascus is opened.

The South Ossetian President answered numerous questions from representatives of the community, including those, related to social and economic situation in South Ossetia, conditions for investments, perspectives of joint project and possibilities for the youth to study in the South Ossetian State University.

The President expressed hope for speedy meeting in Tskhinval, where the Global Assembly of the Ossetians will take place in August.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
