A press conference of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Medoev for the Italian media was organized in Rome in the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy on October 18, 2017.

A meeting with Giulietto Chiesa, a representative of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia in the European Parliament, and a group of Italian friends of South Ossetia took place as well. A diplomatic passport of the Republic of South Ossetia was given to Mr. Chiesa during the meeting.

October 17, 2017 saw a meeting of Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, with Alessandro Bevitori, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Immigration, and a group of Parliamentarians, representatives of the left-wing Social Democrats, the majority party in the Great and General Council of the Republic of San Marino.

During the meeting a negotiation on the perspectives of establishment party-to-party and inter-parliamentary ties, as well as possibilities of the bilateral cooperation in economic and cultural spheres took place.
