Republic of South Ossetia is located оn the southern slopes of the Main Caucasus Range in the area of 3900 square meters. Тhe capital is the city of Tskhinval.

The highest point - Mount Halatsa (3938 m).

Kazbulat Tskhovrebov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, met with Andrey Starkov, Head of Abkhazia and South Ossetia division of the Fourth CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on November, 24.


Aleksej Sanakoev, Head of Department of International Cooperation, Elbrus Kargiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in RSO, and Vitalii Soshnin, Minister-Counsellor of Russian Embassy in Tskhinval, participated in the meeting.

Issues related to development of the draft agreements stipulated by the Treaty on Alliance and Integration signed between South Ossetia and Russia were worked out and aspects of bilateral relations were talked over.
