Pertaining to the possibility of applying a “bundle principal” while signing additional agreements to the Treaty on Alliance and Integration concluded between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.

There is an international practice when several bilateral agreements are signed at a time, however it is not common. Often they coincide that to a visit of heads of states or some important international forum. In this case one can speak about signing a set of agreements. Such a practice is not obligatory.

The history of South Ossetian-Russian contractual relations itself is confirmation of this practice. The Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance was signed between our Republic and the Russian Federation on September 17, 2008. It is a framework agreement or a so-called major agreement, and more than 80 agreements of different levels (interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental) were signed to develop it. However there have never been questions on complying with the bundle principles.

We all are interested in timely signing of additional agreements to the Treaty on Alliance and Integration, but as I’ve already said there is no crisis in this process. Operational coordination that considers opinions of both sides is being run. I can add that 2 plans of joint events have been signed and 3 agreements are nearly ready.
