Republic of South Ossetia is located оn the southern slopes of the Main Caucasus Range in the area of 3900 square meters. Тhe capital is the city of Tskhinval.

February 13, 2017 saw a meeting of Murat Dzhioev, South Ossetia Foreign Minister, with Nalan Antmen, Head of the ICRC mission in South Ossetia, whose mission on the ground is terminating.


The activity conducted by the Mission on territory of the Republic was discussed at the meeting. Head of the Mission informed the Minister about humanitarian programs that currently are under implementation and would be run this year.

The parties exchanged opinions on joint efforts in search of unaccounted for made in framework of the Trilateral Coordination Mechanism.

Murat Dzhioev thanked Nalan Antmen for the projects implemented in South Ossetia during the period when she was a Head of the Mission and emphasized the importance of further development of bilateral cooperation.

Taimuraz Dzhidzhoev, Head of Foreign Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, participated in the meeting.
