South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Medoev’s Comment to Netgazeti

Following a request from Georgian online edition Netgazeti, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister commented the statement of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, addressed to “the highest authorities of Russia”.

Q: - What can you say about the address of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili to the highest authorities of Russia?

A: - In my opinion, it was a rather strange statement. I have no desire to comment it on, because it is not addressed to South Ossetia and, thus, we have nothing to do with it.

Other question is what made Mr. Kvirikashvili make this step, moreover, on an off day. However, it looks funny from outside that a high-ranking Georgian official appeals to the highest authorities of Russia (which is “the occupant”), so that they allow the (“occupied”) Abkhaz and Ossetian people to agree to conduct a direct dialogue with their “homeland” Georgia...

It’s not clear, how could Russia interfere with the dialogue between Georgian authorities and the Ossetians from Kakhetia and Nakhalovka? It seems that they aren’t there any more… - Not comment…

It would be absolutely strange, if the Georgian Prime Minister has ignored the issue of the detained Georgian citizen Tatunashvil, who died in South Ossetia. As he has noted, it is “another example that undermines the basic perspectives of settlement of the Georgian-Russian relations”. - Not comment...

The farther in, the deeper. Kvirikashvili has addressed the highest authorities of the Russian Federation “...with an appeal (I will emphasize it!) to acknowledge all the responsibility to current and future generations...” “To acknowledge all the responsibility!” - This exactly is - Not commented!..

And maybe it is a typo, which has meanly crept into the text of the statement (definitely accidental typo!) - I’m now talking about word “all”, instead of which one should use “your” according to modern Georgian political lexicon.
