At the Tree of Peace, a walnut-tree which had been planted in Miralfiore Park in commemoration of victims of the Georgian aggression, a group of friends of South Ossetia observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of victims of the attack of Georgian troops on the sleeping town on August 8, 2008.

Earlier, on August 3 the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy held in Pesaro an action dedicated to the notorious August 2008. A four meter high walnut-tree symbolizing peace was planted in Miralfiore Park in commemoration of victims of the Georgian aggression.
