Republic of South Ossetia is located оn the southern slopes of the Main Caucasus Range in the area of 3900 square meters. Тhe capital is the city of Tskhinval.

The highest point - Mount Halatsa (3938 m).

A working visit of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitrii Medoev to the Italian Republic has started on October 22, 2018.


In framework of the tour the Minister will visit the province of Catania where a range of meetings are expected to be held in the municipality of Randazzo, province of Catania.

On October 25-26 the Minister will participate in the XI Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona.

Upon an invitation from representatives of Stato Veneto Political Movement the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia will participate as a rapporteur in the International Days of Self-determined Nations (Giornate Internazionali dell’Autodeterminzione dei Popoli).

The visit will last till October 28.
