International Days of Self-determined Nations (Giornate Internazionali dell’Autodeterminzione dei Popoli), which were organized in Verona and in which participated Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, finished on October 28.


An address by members of the Presidium of the Congress in support of the Republic of South Ossetia followed the speech of the Minister.

Support and solidarity to the people of the Republic of South Ossetia in exercising its rights to self-determination and international recognition in accordance with the provisions of the UN Charter and other fundamental international documents were expressed in the address.

The Congress has strongly condemned the counterproductive actions of Georgia, including refusal of the Georgian party to sign an agreement on non-use of force against South Ossetia in framework of the GID.

Alongside with this the inadmissibility of armed resolution of the conflict, which leaves the only way to settle interstate problems peacefully, was mentioned in the address.
