A meeting of Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Natalia Nikonorova, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People`s Republic, who has arrived in Tskhinval on a working visit, was held on December 24.


During the meeting the Ministers exchanged opinion on running issues, related to the bilateral relations and regional agenda.

Andrey Tskhovrebov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Sergey Peresada, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic, participated in the meeting.

Exchange of ratifications of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Donetsk People's Republic, signed by Anatoliy Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Alexander Zakharchenko, the President of the Donetsk People's Republic, on May 11, 2017 in Donetsk, took place on the same day.

The Protocol on exchange of the ratifications of the Treaty has been signed by the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitrii Medoev and the Foreign Minister of the Donetsk People`s Republic Natalia Nikonorova.

In accordance with Article 20, the Treaty enters into force on the date of exchange of the ratifications.

The parties expressed confidence that implementation of the provisions stipulated in the agreement would promote strengthening and further development of the bilateral cooperation.
