Statement of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia

From August 31 to September 3, the official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia led by the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Kochieva S.Y. visited the Transdniestria Moldavian Republic, which was celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the proclamation of independence. The delegation also included Deputy Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Tskhovrebov K.I. and the Head of Translation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Tadtaev S.Y.

On August 31 the delegation met the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the TMR Burlo M.P. The parties discussed the issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation and prospects of bilateral interstate relations.

On September 1, First Deputy Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Tskhovrebov K.I., the Head of Translation Department of MFA of RSO Tadtaev S.Y. and the head of the Official Representative (Embassy) of the Republic of South Ossetia in Transdniestria Surago S.V. visited school № 15 in Benderi, where solemn ceremony on the Day of Knowledge. Kazbulat Tskhovrebov congratulated students with the beginning of the school year and wished them success in their studies.

On the same day, there was a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Transdniestria, in which the Minister Shtansky N.V. thanked South Ossetian colleagues for their visit. In turn, Kazbulat Tskhovrebov informed about the events taking place in the Republic of South Ossetia, about the changes in the leadership of the republic, and directly in the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a course of the dialogue, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Transdniestria Moldavian Republic, and expressed their willingness to cooperate in future, strengthening educational, cultural and youth sectors.
On September 2, the South Ossetian delegation took part in the celebrations of the Independence Day.

On September 3, the delegation of South Ossetia was received by the Transdniestria Moldavian Republic President Yevgeny Shevchuk. He thanked for the visit and underlined a traditionally high level of South Ossetia delegation. Yevgeny Shevchuk has awarded the head of the delegation Kochiev S.Y. with Order of Friendship. Later, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia attended a meeting of the Council of TMR Young Diplomats. Kazbulat Tskhovrebov addressed young Transdniestria colleagues with welcoming speech, and answered their questions.

South Ossetian delegation also met Savva, the bishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary. They put candles for the repose of the Beslan tragedy victims in St. George Chapel.
