Meetings in support of South Ossetia organized by the International Association of Ossetian Communities “Renaissance” are being held in several European capitals today.
The Actions were held in Berlin, Strasbourg and Brussels as Commissioner of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on human rights David Sanakoev informed IA “Res”.
“Participants of the Meetings gathered in front of the building of the Council of Europe and European Commission Offices with slogans condemning Georgian aggression and calling for free Ossetian prisoners from Georgian jails” – he told.

Question: How do you estimate the decision of the International UN Court pertaining the Kosovo status problem?
Answer. Notwithstanding the fact that decision of International UN Court is of consultative character, it creates certain internationally legal precedent. It is crucially important to underline, that the court marked only the Declaration of proclamation of independence itself. However, on my opinion, this decision may be considered as an indirect recognition of Kosovo independence, what will push other states to its recognition.

On 8 of June 2010 Geneva played host for the eleventh meeting within the framework of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia. Discussions participating on equal grounds by delegations of the Republic of Abkhazia, Republic of South Ossetia, Georgia, Russia and US are held in accordance with Medvedev-Sarcozi agreements of the 12th of August and of the 8th of September 2008.

The Transnistrian Moldovan Republic Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Yastrebchak directed a greeting message to the Republic of South Ossetia Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Dzhioev in connection with the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic war. The message particularly says: “Keeping everlasting memory of the heroism and the valour of warriors defeated the fascism, this date unites people all over the post soviet area. This day we pay tribute to those who granted freedom and peace to us, who fought at the front and served on the home front, revived the country postwar.

The Russian Federation Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov directed a greeting message to the Republic of South Ossetia Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Dzhioev in connection with the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic war. The message particularly says: “Sincerely congratulate You and the personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia with the momentous date of the common history of our peoples – 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War”.

In connection with commemoration of the Day of the Memory and Grief in the Republic of South Ossetia on the 20th of May memorial events were held in Transdnistrian Moldovan Republic.
Taking part in the events were officials and the general public.

In view of the Day of national mourning on 20th of May the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transdnistrian-Moldovan Republic Vladimir Yastrebchak directed a telegram to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Murat Djioev. It is told specifically in the telegram:
“A 20th of May 1992 will forever remain in the memory of people of South Ossetia as a day of terrible tragedy, an evidence of inhumanity of the effective Georgian regime.
