Statement of the members of the second session of the Expert Council affiliated to South Ossetia Foreign Ministry

We, members of the second session of the Expert Council affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia;
Taking into consideration the fact that current stage of our social development is linked with drastic changes in politics and economy of the country and therefore new terms are appearing, definitions of the old ones’ is changing and being adjusted; believe in the necessity of establishing a Terminological Committee on the Ossetian language.
Vocabulary is the most open and flexible aspect of the language system and the Ossetian language is not an exception. Our language is open for borrowing terms. Therefore establishment of such a committee is necessary not only for translation of a large amount of regulatory documentation into Ossetian, but also for expanding social and political vocabulary as well as common lexis of modern Ossetian language.
