Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Magomed Shamilov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Dagestan in the Republic of South Ossetia, on June 19.

The parties exchanged opinion on current issues of bilateral cooperation between South Ossetia and the republics of Northern Caucasus and further development of traditionally friendly Ossetian-Dagestan relations, including building humanitarian, cultural, trade and economic relations.

The issue of installing a monument to a famous Soviet and Russian poet, political writer and public figure, a native of Dagestan Rasul Gamzativ was discussed at the meeting. The stone on the 90th anniversary of the poet was set in Tskhinval in 2013 at the solemn opening ceremony of a square, named after Rasul Gamzatov.

Minister Medoev appreciated the contribution made by Magomed Shamilov to strengthening and developing relations between the people of South Ossetia and Dagestan.
