The so-called Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili sanction list, which includes citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia, who allegedly in various periods of time had committed various offences against Georgian nationals, was published in Georgia on June 26, 2018.

Taking into consideration the permanently unstable internal political situation in Georgia, which recently became especially complicated, it’s hard to escape the conclusion that they in Tbilisi decided to use the death of Archil Tatunashvili, a citizen of Georgia, in gaining all kinds of political dividends, which serve the populist interests of the acting government.

Obviously, such actions are cynical. These things occur today in the country which authorities had expelled from the territory more than one hundred thousand Ossetians since 1989 till 1992. For many years after that period those authorities had been committing terrorist attacks in the territory of South Ossetia and are guilty of a long list of inhuman crimes which have no limitation period – the mass slaughter of the Ossetians in Ered on March 18, 1991, the shooting of the Ossetian refugees near village Zar on May 20, 1992, and finally, the night bombardment of Tskhinval and subsequent military aggression against South Ossetia in August 2008.

Introduction of the above mentioned list is considered as nothing else but another sufficient confirmation of the irresponsibility of the actions of the official Tbilisi, the fear of the necessity to plead guilty in front of neighboring states – South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and subsequently, the lack of desire to settle relations with them.

There is no doubt that similar “sanction” acts would affect for the worse the atmosphere of the Geneva International Discussions and complicate the work of IPRM.

In the established conditions the Republic of South Ossetia reserves the right to take corresponding measures in relation to certain category of Georgian citizens.

It would be desired that they in modern European-kind Georgia realize that fairness and justice are inevitable, and they would find the persons, guilty of the crimes against the Ossetians, when the time comes.
